University, Post-18 and Careers Information

We have a dedicated Careers Department that strive to secure beneficial enrichment and experience opportunities for each student. Careers staff work with students one-to-one, identify their skill set, build a robust CV, complete applications for internships and plan work experience. Sessions are delivered on Student Finance, Scholarships and Bursaries, along with information on studying abroad and gap year opportunities. A variety of themed careers events are regularly on offer and students can arrange top-up career profiling, mock interviews and make use of the extensive careers resources.

From year 12 students start to plan what they wish to do thanks to personalised discussions with their teachers, their Tutors and the Head of Sixth Form. They have help in deciding on the path they wish to choose, whether it be to continue their studies at University, to apply for an apprenticeship or to go to into paid work.

All students are welcome to book further one-to-one appointments to seek university, post-18 and careers advice from our dedicated CEIAG staff member, Mr Howard (Careers Guidance Manager) by emailing enquiries@sta.islington.sch.uk or visiting his offices located in the Sixth Form block.

Whatever their choice, every student is listened to, advised and supported throughout the process.
